Techgen Cyber Solution Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a dynamic, empathetic, and result-oriented Career & Educational Counsellor to join our team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding students’ academic backgrounds, career interests, skills, and goals, and providing personalized career guidance and educational counselling to help them make informed decisions about their future.

The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong counselling abilities, and the confidence to interact with students, parents, and working professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct one-to-one career counselling and educational counselling sessions with students and prospective learners.
• Understand students’ academic performance, interests, skills, personality, and career aspirations.
• Provide personalized guidance on career options, educational courses, professional certifications, and skill-development programs.
• Help students identify suitable career paths based on their interests, qualifications, and long-term goals.
• Counsel students and parents regarding course selection, career opportunities, and future prospects.
• Explain course structures, eligibility criteria, career opportunities, learning outcomes, and other relevant information.
• Follow up with prospective students through phone calls, WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels.
• Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions, enquiries, follow-ups, and conversions.
• Generate and manage leads and guide prospective students through the enrolment process.
• Achieve assigned counselling and enrolment targets.
• Build strong relationships with students and parents throughout the counselling process.
• Stay updated with emerging career opportunities, educational programs, industry trends, and skill requirements.
• Coordinate with internal academic, sales, and operations teams to ensure a smooth student experience.
• Maintain a professional and supportive counselling environment.

• Good understanding of career counselling and educational guidance.
• Ability to understand students’ needs and recommend suitable career paths.
• Strong convincing, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Ability to handle multiple student enquiries and follow-ups.
• Comfortable communicating with students, parents, and professionals.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office, Google Workspace, CRM, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Candidates with a Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or Career Guidance will be preferred.
• Relevant certifications in Career Counselling, Student Counselling, or Psychometric Assessment will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in career counselling, educational counselling, student counselling, admissions counselling, academic counselling, or a related role.
• Candidates with experience in education, EdTech, training institutes, coaching institutes, study-abroad counselling, or student admissions are encouraged to apply.
• Freshers with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in career counselling may also be considered.
